Dolly Jeanne, an unloved puppy, escapes her abusive owners with her siblings. After witnessing K-9 training, she ends up at Diamond J Ranch but struggles to fit in. A miscommunication leads the veterinarian to mistakenly think Dolly should be euthanized. Joe Flannery, interested in adopting a calm dog, initially hesitates due to Dolly’s breed but ultimately decides to rescue her just before she’s taken away. At Joe’s home, Dolly, traumatized from her past, eventually warms up to the family. One night, she alerts Joe to a fire next door. Will Dolly overcome her PTSD to become one of the heroes she has seen during her time at K-9 training and transform from the rescued to the rescuer?
