Matty “Mad Dogs” McKoy may appear in chapter three as a normal dog trainer, but there is a lot more to him than meets the eye.
It all started on September 11th, 2001.

Matthew McKoy was sitting on his couch watching the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers burn down. He was mortified and enraged by what he was seeing on his television. He picked up his phone and committed to enlist in the Marines then and there.

One year and a Crucible later, Matthew McKoy is officially a Marine! He is deployed to Afghanistan and is constantly on high alert during his time there.

Matthew McKoy, scarred from war, now known as Matty “Mad Dogs” McKoy (A nickname from a friend who passed away, kept because of sentimental value), returns to New Mexico, his home, and starts a K-9 Training Academy to train working dogs for the military and law enforcement. Matty “Mad Dogs” Mckoy, traumatized from his time in the military, adopts five Belgian Mals to keep around and help him feel safe. This is where Matty “Mad Dogs” McKoy is in life when Dolly Jeanne arrives one day at his academy.
